This won’t be a post where I police your diet and eating habits. Rather, this is an opportunity for you to examine how what you put into your body impacts how your mind, body and soul operates. Often, when we think about nutrition, our goals are simply aesthetic - who can be the skinniest, who can be the most ‘jacked’ aka muscular, who can be whatever society has deemed as beautiful. But, what we put inside our body not only impacts our weight and body composition, but our overall sense of wellness, happiness and functionality.
I found this out the hard way.
As someone who was previously a chronic dieter, always hopping onto the next food craze in the attempt to keep up with Joneses, I’ve tried everything. Intermittent fasting, the keto diet, low carb, low calories. I’ve eaten excessively, had periods of eating extremely processed foods, and even ‘bulked’ - in order to intentionally gain weight.
I’ve been through it all.
Not only have I been my own guinea pig, but I’ve spent hours and hours of my time across the years researching into the impact of food on our general health and happiness.
