The Truth About the Law of Attraction
Can you really become a magnet for success in all areas of your life?
Everything you currently have in your life, has been attracted to you.
This is an extremity, of course. But, I’m certain you have heard some version or variant at some point in your life. Heck, you might still be hearing it as an underpinning message in the things you listen to and watch on a daily basis.
‘Hocus-pocus’, ‘manifestation mania’ and ‘simple untruth’ are amongst the choice words used by one of my mentors, when we were discussing it. It was a breezy autumn afternoon, and we were catching up over coffee. A youtube video on attracting good ‘energy’ and ‘the positivity of the universe’ had come up on my feed, and knowing exactly what my mentor was like, I sent it over to him to give me his thoughts. Granted, my mentor is significantly older than me, and very much amidst the community of folk who believe in good ol’ hard work.
His brows furrowed all the more as he rewinded some of the video. “Are you telling me that the universe owes you something if you burn some sage?” he asked me, in all seriousness.
I laughed. It’s pretty common for some semblance of the law of attraction to be mixed up with some spiritual practices or beliefs, particularly because many major religions have some element of cosmic karma or ‘just desserts’ policy which dictates that you will, in some way, receive the energy that you put out into the world.
I’m sure my mentor isn’t the only one amidst us that are either incredulous, or simply not that knowledgeable about what the law of attraction is, and means for us on a daily basis. Given the mass utilisation of the law of attraction, I thought it pertinent to examine, understand, and share what it might mean for you in your life.
